It's always good fun watching scuba divers deploy a SMB (Safety sausage) from 5 metres. Often there is line everywhere, and if you are lucky, you get to see them getting dragged to the surface along with the SMB. The solution is a drop reel. Connect one end to the SMB, drop the reel and let it spool out (5 metres of line). Then inflate the SMB and the line goes up cleanly.This tiny reel takes 5 metres of dive line (2mm VB cord). It goes in the pocket or attach it to the SMB. It has a 10mm threaded inner gap for a M10 bolt to make the reel negatively buoyant. Or a small fishing lead weight works. Safe diving
