DIY Infinite Laser V1

DIY Infinite Laser V1

This is a Laser engraver/cutter system Ive been working on. It is mounted on wheels so that essentially the y Axis can be infinite. I also have the "Modular" design which can be made to any size you need, or a simple design where you only need to print the 2 sides and the wheels. You can even print your own 2020 Vslot extrusion that i provided. Or course there are risks to using a laser, and this is one that is DIY and can be higher risk since it is on wheels so be careful. Quality of the engraving/cuts can also be affected by the surface the machine is rolling on so also take caution. You will need: - A bunch of 5mm T nuts and screws. - 3 stepper motors - 3d Printer motherboard+display. - Stepper motor splitter cable + regular cable - Belt to drive the x axis (GT2). - Idler + extruder gear to drive the x axis (GT2). - m3 threaded insert + screws - 1/4 bolt - 608 ball bearings - Rubber Bands for the wheels Sorry if im missing anything i will have a installation video eventually. To print the modular Versions you need to print the following files: - Modular extruder brace - Modular regular brace - 2x modular idler brace - 2x y mounts (1 needs to be mirrored) - 2x idler bushings - 2x idler wheels - 2x drive wheels - board and screen mount - laser mount You have the option of cutting aluminum 2020 (vslot) extrusions (this is much more reliable) or printing them with the model provided. The printed 2020 vslots are surprisingly strong however they twist easily, which is where a lot of the weight from the laser will go.
