This is a birthday gift for my girlfriend - personalized nightlight lamp. I made it in one day. My main inspiration source was these beautiful lamps: http://www.hannahnunn.co.uk/products/table-lamps.html. But since I couldn't order them, I tried to create smth by myself. Thanks to this pic http://www.123rf.com/photo_21258485_seamless-pattern-with-donuts-and-cookies.html for the donut pattern. Instructions Materials and Intruments: 1) Acrylic glass (I used green 4mm thick) 2) Thick art paper 3) Plywood (6mm thick) 4) Usual desktop lamp. 5) 8 small neodymium magnets 6) Double sided tape 7) Laser cutter 8) Hot glue 9) Grinder straight for acrylic glass The assembling process is easy to see on photos, here is a short description: 1) I took apart the desktop lamp and used the metal from it's cap as a stand for bulb in my lamp; 2) I lasercutted the inside skeleton cap, stand from acrylic glass and vertical frame from plywood; 3) I lasercutted and assembled the back side with a small window with magnets, that will be used for easily changing the bulb and a small cutout for the wire. 4) I grinded the backside so it will perfectly fit and attached the it and the bulb with stand using double sided tape and hot glue; 5) I attached outside skeleton stand, using transparent double sided tape; 6) I engraved on the art paper the patterns and the text with congrats (Sides 1, 2, 3) and attached them to the vertical skeleton using double sided tape; One of the sides (with donuts) I attached so that the engraved part is inside the lamp, so you can see the picture only when you switch on the lamp; 7) I attached the outside skeleton using hot glue.
