DIY Wire Spool

I find that the wire I buy for my electronics projects is often wound too tightly, too loosely, or on a very poor-quality spool. Use this handy enclosed wire spool to hold wire of any size. This one says "30 Gauge" on the top, but you can easily re-label it if you want to. The lid press-fits onto the top, and you can use one 4-40x 3/8" screw to hold it extra securely in place. This spool is especially good for use in a tool bag or traveling toolkit because the wire is protected and held in one place instead of being exposed to other things that may be knocking around in your kit. Plus, its thick walls make it pretty much indestructible. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Infill: 35% Notes: This can be printed on any printer at any resolution in almost any rigid material (I used PLA). I used a 1mm nozzle at .3mm layer height to print it quickly, but the design is chunky and robust by design, so small details aren't necessary. If you have a 3d printer, you can print this. Note: Usually, the Printrbot Simple Metal can't print multiple filaments. However, with the upgraded Gearhead extruder, I'm able to manually switch filaments during a print. I had a few almost empty spools of PLA laying around, so I just used the dregs of all three rolls. Looks pretty neat, eh?
