DIYAT Switch V1 (bayonet latch - SEE NEW VERSIONS)
thingiverse
I have two new improved versions of this DIYAT Switch with threaded latches and frictionless radial flexures: DIYAT Switch V4 - compact, signal level switch https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3062522 DIYAT Switch V5 - larger, power level switch https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3146646 A simple passive DIY Assistive Technology switch enclosure makes a small momentary tactile button switch more accessible by providing a larger activation surface. Designed with OpenSCAD, future versions will allow the size and mounting options of this parametric design to be selected. The bayonet type latch is derived from "Customizable Bayonet Container" by walter. Note: The switch used in this design is good for signal level switching (loads under 50mA) as is the case for any AT switch based on a tactile switch. For inductive loads, such as motorized toys that have been switch adapted, be aware of the load current, which can easily exceed 50mA. For these situations, I recommend using a driver/relay circuit or an assistive technology switch rated for at least 1A. The DIYAT Switch is designed to be simple to build, durable, inexpensive (minimal parts) and customizable in size. This enclosure design is an assembly of three parts that fit together and must be printed with enough precision to operate correctly.
