Update 2017-04-15: added a tapered version of the skids. I found out that with the normal skids they are a little bit in the field of view in case the camera is pointing straight downwards. With the tapered version the skids will not enter the field of view with normal flight maneuvers.Attention: Due to the reduced skid length, they are a litte less stable than the normal ones. Make sure you start from even ground and that the props are unfolded completely before starting (to avoid torque that might tilt the mavig forward). ======= I really love the landing skids by WeMake3D, since it is nicely designed, the skids are not blocking the arms when folding/unfolding, doesn't affect the downwards VPS system and the baseplate can even be mounted when using the DJI bag. The only thing that was missing for me is the ability to mount a tracker. Therefore I modified the left skid and designed a mount for the RF-V16 that can be put on. It has a tight fit, no wobbling or getting loose, the arms can still be folded/unfolded when the tracker is mounted. You even can switch on/off and recharge the tracker without removing it from the mount! I think the extra weight of ~35g (tracker included) near the center of gravity will not affect the maneuverability that much, and the GSM antenna is not too close to the electronics. Have fun printing it! Note (for Simplify3D users): If any one has issue by slicing the left skid and it looks like the print is not solid there is a simple fix. Click on "Mesh", then "Seperate connected surface areas". Then slice again. S3D has a known issue were it fails to properly slice multi object models (even if they only appear to be a single file or model) but once they are seperated it will then slice correctly and you will no longer have the printing issue that causes the weak joint that snaps. Hope this helps.
