DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, is the miraculous double-helix molecule encoding the blueprints of all living things. It has been evolving for billions of years, yet its structure has only been known since 1953, when it was finally discovered by James Watson and Francis Crick. Today we can sequence entire genomes, revealing the basis of inherited disease and clues to our ancient heritage. This sculpture is a space-fill molecular model 4in (10cm) high, perfect for the desk or shelf of your favorite scientist or geek. Instructions The accompanying *.stl file will enable you to print your own space-filled molecular model of DNA on a small stand. The print is straightforward - just slice and build. Parts of the model are slightly overhanging, so you may get some hanging loops if you are using an extrusion printer. You can easily repair these by trimming them off with an X-Acto knife and dabbing on a little acetone to cover the cuts.
