Do it yourself $20 ring light setup

<p>I wanted some ring lights for my desk when I stream, and also being able to take them wherever for photos or videos of things.</p><p>Most of the ring light setups are very expensive. So I wanted to try something cheap.</p><p>I grabbed two ring lights for $7 each like the ones <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093Q76NKF">here</a>. They are out of stock now, but you want to look for the many duplicates of these that are identical in build. You are looking for the ones that have the ring light and the clip.&nbsp;</p><p>I also went to Lowes and bought a 6 foot by ¾ inch dowel rod as linked <a href="https://www.lowes.com/pd/Madison-Mill-Round-Wood-Poplar-Dowel-Actual-72-in-L-x-0-75-in-dia/1000152145">here</a>. I cut it to the length I needed to allow the lights to clip to my desk and rise up over the monitors.</p><p>I then unscrewed the swivel mount from the clip completely. So all that was left was the clip with the holes in it.</p><p>I painted my wooden dowel black before cutting it also.</p><p>I then screwed the dowel into the clip. &nbsp;</p><p>I then mounted the swivel base to my printed part. Using the screws and all that came with it.</p><p>On the other end I slid my printed part onto the dowel. For me it was a nice snug fit, but you could glue it if you want.&nbsp;</p><p>Then I just clip the led light to the desk, adjust the swivel to get the angle I want.&nbsp;</p><p>The LED's are USB powered so you can use your pc, a hub, or even a USB battery pack. Whatever you want.</p><p>Total cost for me was $14 for the 2 lights ($7 each), $6 for the dowel rod. I already had black paint. So $20 for two very nice LED ring lights that do the job for me</p>
