This is a handle that can be used to shorten a leash for walk-training a dog to help increase control and avoid buying a whole bunch of different length leashes. When dogs are young, they need a very short leash to learn to stay close by and not pull. I was shortening my dog's leash with knots and holding the rope tightly. But that became uncomfortable, which limited my control. This handle, designed quickly in a pinch, solved the problem. To use this handle, you fold the leash over, run it up through the center and out one of the side openings at the top, then loop it around the outside to keep it in place. This also places the tension point at the back of your hand, instead of right in front of it, which makes it easy to hold the leash loose, but quickly regain control if needed. I used tree supports which worked flawlessly and kept the surface smooth so as not to create a rough surface that wears out the leash where it loops around the handle. In whatever case, you will almost definitely need supports to print this. Also, this is designed for one of those rope style leashes like the one in the picture. If you're going to use a standard flat-style leash, you can probably scale this down 15-20% If you make it, post a make so I can get a look at what you did! :)
