Dog proof door latch

Dog proof door latch

To secure our inward-opening doors, which have lever style handles, from being opened by our playful poodles, I created a simple device that slips under the door and latches onto the door jamb. This works well even if the dogs pull on the handle since it only needs to prevent the door from fully opening. However, this may not work with doors other than ours, which has a depth of 35mm with an additional 35mm to the front side of the jam. Note that for right-hand side doors, you'll need to mirror the design. Print with 15-20% fill and about 3-4 perimeters. Add felt feet for smoother sliding on wood floors or to adjust the height based on door and floor gaps. Simply slide the device onto the bottom of the door on the opening side, close the door, then move it over to latch onto the jamb.
