This is dog waste bag holder with a threaded top. The cap has a hole for a carrying rope.

I've included the .STL file for printing, and the .123DX (Autodesk 123D Design) file for remixing.

EDIT: I've added the files for a filled waste bag clip, and a chain with swivels to connect the two together. It's a very big print that barely fits on my 5th gen print bed. You may have to split the STL for smaller beds. I've also included the .123dx (Autodesk 123D Design) files for remixing

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

MakerBot

Printer:

MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation)

Rafts:

Yes

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

10

Post-Printing

The threads are very tight at first. They will loosen up a bit after use. After printing, the threads will have some burrs and inconsistencies. Thread the cap on one turn at a time and rotate it a few times. Clear each turn of the threads before trying to tighten it further.

How I Designed This

I went through a lot of trial and error, mostly error, to make this design. I have been trying to learn how to draw threads in 123D Design for quite a while. This project gave me plenty of practice.
Originally, I wanted the bags to feed through the top of the holder, through the cap. It worked, but the bag spool would bind after pulling 1 or 2 bags out. Eventually, I went with a more traditional design, with an oval opening in the side.
The design iterations from left to right. The first two had threads that didn't connect. The third design was too narrow, and has an off-center cap. The fourth design is the right size, but doesn't feed more than 1-2 bags before binding. The fifth design works, and has been field tested with a German Shepard that poops a LOT.

Category: Pets
