Dome Top Slug Trap

Dome Top Slug Trap

This remix of raptor1jec's Mushroom Slug Trap uses a complete circle inset on the underside of the dome top, to make it easier to line up with the 3 uprights of the base. The circle inset is vaulted (angled like a roof) to allow printing without support. I made a mushroom top by printing the first 4 mm in white, pausing the print, and switching to red filament. Then I used a 3D pen to make white spots on the red dome top. Put this on a white base and it makes a cheerful but deadly (to slugs) toadstool for your garden. The redesigned cone base uses less beer, so you can fill more traps with each can of beer. The tapered interior is also less susceptible to freeze damage if you leave it out over the winter (but I do recommend that you bring it inside then). Raptor1jec's base uses overhanging sides to make it harder for slugs to crawl out of the trap, but in my experience, they die happy swimming in their beer pool, and don't really try to get out. Use concentric line pattern to maintain water tightness and best appearance.
