Interlocking Card Trays, Now with even More Features! ==== I give full credit for the inspiration and basis for this design to Popsicle_peon with his "Dominion Card Tray/Holder Snapable & Stackable" https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1252597 uploaded to Thingiverse, January 07, 2016. Great Job Popsicle_Peon! --- Seeing Popsicle Peon's design really made an impression on me and was great in using while playing Dominion. It really helped the game play. However, I did see room for improvement. I wanted more versatility in how I set up the card trays. Originally, the trays only snapped together long side to long side and short side to short side. I thought the snaps could be designed better to allow for 90 degree rotation. I had to start from scratch, the standard card size is not an easy ratio. So I made the outer sides of the tray a ratio of 2:3. This allows the trays to be more versatile in how they can be arranged. After playing with the new version, I realized it wasn't good enough. I will be uploading photos of Version 3 which all have full 360 degree orientation with snapability. Please excuse the pictures, I used some prototypes (v2.1) in them. I went right to designing version #3 before I had a full set. ADHD I guess. Quantity to Print: --- Following Popsicle Peon's recommendations, Here is the quantity of trays you'll need to print by depth: 11x 5mm - For the standard (Action) cards & Any others you may need 3x 8mm - For the Province (6 player amount) & Duchy cards 2x 12mm - for the Gold, Estate & Curse cards 1x 16mm - For the Silver Cards 1x 22mm - For the Copper Cards 1x Lid 1x Coin tray - (for applicable game sets with coins) Also, please feel free to color coordinate your trays with the card types. (E.g., Green for the victory cards, yellow or gold for the treasure, purple for the curse) Maybe one day I will do a half-sies tray that can snap together and make a 2 color tray for dual purpose cards - Version 4 maybe?) Features: --- -Vertically Stackable -Interlocking at ratio increments 2:3 (this allows the trays to be rotated 90 degrees). -Each side can interlock with any other side (Pop-Peon's Idea) -Color coordinating with your supply decks (If you have the filament color to choose) -Can hold coins and other game tokens -Includes lid for stacking together (Pop-Peon's Idea) -Can use rubber band to keep stack together (Pop-Peon's Idea) -Added Fillets on non-connecting edges to increase comfort -Coin tray is shallower to reduce print time & material Question for those who read this far: the cavity to hold the cards has more clearance side to side than it does forward to back. At first I thought it was a design flaw, but I'm kinda liking it. What are your opinions?
