Donald John Trump, born June 14, 1946, in New York City, is an American businessman, television host, statesman and billionaire. He is the 45th President of the United States, serving from January 20, 2017 to January 20, 2021. The son of real estate developer Fred Trump, he worked in his father's company while attending the Wharton School. In 1971, he took over the family business, which he renamed The Trump Organization; from then on, he built a real estate empire and notoriety through prestigious buildings that usually bore his name. Some of his buildings - including several skyscrapers, including Trump Tower - are located in New York State and Miami, and he also owns buildings in other countries. He owns casinos, luxury homes, and golf courses, and makes numerous investments in other areas, including sports, media, and beauty pageants. A media celebrity since the 1980s, he has been involved in the television entertainment industry and was the host of the reality show The Apprentice from 2004 to 2015.
