This door opener is based on another found on Thingiverse, but with a reduced size and a case that includes a hitch to prevent slipping. The original model can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3314887. One useful modification is the addition of a channel for a regular wire, which allows digital buttons to make contact, such as those used in elevator control boards that require digital touch activation. This design does not require any special specifications and should work well with PLA, PETG, ABS, or other materials that are not too flexible. This tool is useful for COVID-19 care efforts. The images shown may not be the best quality due to a problematic PETG material used during printing. However, the door opener prints well under normal conditions. To achieve optimal results, it's recommended to use an infill of 30% to 40%. This balance provides sufficient hardness and flexibility while preventing breakage.
