E-bikes are expensive and if some thief decides to take mine, I'd like to get it back (I think). This AirTag holder is designed to look like the stock Dost nameplate and not be too visible to the casual thief. And if they do see it and know what it is, maybe it discourages them from taking it in the first place. I suppose you don't even need an AirTag in there if you have smart thieves that are looking for them. However you choose to roll... Anyway, Dost bikes have a plate bolted to the steering tube. This replaces that plate and has a protective housing and pocket for an Apple AirTag. I used a piece of packing foam sheet between the block and the tube to form a kind of seal for all weather. It also holds the AirTag so it's not bouncing around in the housing. There's a water hole at the bottom in case water does get in. I don't know the best orientation for the AirTag but am guessing you want the plastic side facing forward. The antennas are under that plastic cover so facing those forward should get the best range but again, guessing. Print in colors to match your bike, or not. I glue the O and bar in place using medium viscosity cyanoacrylate. There's also a blank monoblock in case you want to import and create your own logo or apply a sticker. The O and bar are smaller in size by 0.5mm in all dimension but thickness which is 1.6mm thick. The pockets are 2 mm deep. That gives some room for leftover support and the glue to come out about the same deck height as the rest of the plate. Depending on the amount of squish you get, the inserts might need some sanding to get to fit. It's tight on my printer with these dimensions. I printed mine face down where there is breakaway support in the O and bar areas. It would print better if the monoblock was in two pieces split in the plate thickness somehow. I chose easy instead.
