Have you ever imagined a screwdriver that could not only use two different heads, but could also become two independent tools? Well, even if you haven’t, the new “Double-Ended Detachable (both the body and the bits) Screwdriver (DED Screwdriver) is capable of performing these tasks. Being based off of a conglomerate of current screwdrivers and some of my own concepts, this screwdriver takes the best of these ideas and turns them into a capable tool. It can take a ¼ inch bit and is able to become two independent screwdrivers by using a built in thread system. To detach the two ends of the screwdriver, you just twist and unscrew the two ends. This will make it become one 4 ½ inch screwdriver with a thread sticking out and a 3 inch screwdriver that has a threaded hole. This tool also boasts an ergonomic design making it comfortable to handle while also being a moderate size, making it easier to get into those tight corners. This tool, made in inventor, is 3d printable, meaning it will be printed with a lightweight plastic. Although, due to its shape, it takes a decent amount of time to print. In summary, this tool would make using a screwdriver easier and more convenient. Being able to take a variety of bits and being detachable makes it a versatile tool and the 3D printed lightweight design makes it easier to carry around. The unique shape also gives an ergonomic feel when using this tool.-- The Bit is just an example of a real life bit --
