Available in various formats, it was a medium bomber utilized by the US Army Air Corps and Royal Canadian Air Force; based on their DC-2 commercial aircraft. Distinct versions featured diverse nose sections, with B-18A featuring Wright R-1820-53 engines and relocated bombardier's station (217 built). Produced mid-1930s, it served in WWII; surviving B-18s were predominantly used as trainer aircraft. Some were loaned to Russia, Australia, and sent to Britain.
