The model is available in multiple formats and liveries. The Douglas DC-6 is a piston-powered airliner and transport aircraft produced by the Douglas Aircraft Company from 1946 to 1958. Initially designed as a military transport during World War II, it was later adapted for the long-range commercial market post-war. Over 700 of these aircraft were built and many still operate today in roles like cargo, military duties, and wildfire control. The DC-6 was known as the C-118 Liftmaster in the United States Air Force and R6D in the United States Navy until 1962, after which they all received the C-118 designation.
