there are two versions for 6mm and 8mm dowels.why the different surfaces? - where i come from, you can by sheets in certain thicknesses (9/12/15/18/21/24mm). if your board thickness matches one of the surfaces, then you can hold the jig on either way. otherwise you must make shure to use the same side!also this allows you to have the dowels near the center of the board, by choosing another hole.i have used 8x1mm and 10x1mm metal tubing as drilling busshings. i recommend drilling through your tubing, to make shure the inner diameter is actually 6/8mm (mine were not).print the parts (no support needed).the holes are designed to exactly 8/10mm (except for one, where there wasn't enough wall thickness).drill the holes to a perfect 8/10mm (on my printer they came out smaller).then insert and glue in place the metal bushings.btw: i used this handy dandy depth stop:https://www.printables.com/model/126585
