Dragonflite 95 hull reinforcement

Dragonflite 95 hull reinforcement

I love my Dragonflite 95, but I've gone thru 3 hulls in the last 2 years due to cracks around the keel trunk. I got a sectional view of the hull by cutting thru a cracked hull. The hull thickness on either side of the keel trunk is 50% of the thickness of other areas of the hull and deck. I used ABS to print, then glue to inside hull with 5200 marine adhesive. This stiffens the hull in way of the keel trunk. This will make the boat out of compliance with the strict one-design requirements of this class....do not race this in the DF95 World Cup! The project files are from using Solidworks 2018. UPDATE 9/15/2019 I added a gusset on each side. This gusset sits on the hull reinforcement and extends over to the keel box, adding additional bracing. Gusset is glued to keel box and reinforcement after reinforcement is set in place.. With just the reinforcement, the hull still flexes along the keel box were the hull is especially thin. See photo of hull cross-section.
