Reconstructed from 2562 drone images taken from a Mavic 2 Pro (sampled from video), with approx 1000 nadir and 1500 oblique images. Captured in early 2019 and processed in Agisoft Metashape in July 2020. Massively decimated and trimmed mesh in order to fit the 50MB limit, but a much higher poly version was created. All required permissions, notifications, method statements and risk assessments etc were in place. Drake’s Island is a 6.5-acre (2.6-hectare) island lying in Plymouth Sound off Plymouth, Devon, UK. Known originally as St Michael’s Island, Drake’s Island has a rich and varied history and has formed an integral part of Plymouth’s sea defences since the 16th Century. The island has served as a prison, a refuge, a religious centre and most recently an adventure training facility. The island has remained untouched for the last 30 years and is now under new ownership who plan to build upon the previous owners planned Hotel and Spa and a heritage centre.
