Dremel®-clone rotary tool to 43mm drill press adapter (cheap alternative to Dremel Workstation)

There are plenty of drill presses that have 43mm holder to fit your standard household drill. They start at $10, are made from steel, and are ideal to make holes at 90 degree angle. You will find plenty of them at your local hardware store. I created an adapter to fit a rotary tool to those 43mm drill presses. Inside diameter is 18mm with 2mm thread step - and it holds most Chinese clones of Dremel® (and, most probably, will hold Dremel 4000, too). As the result, you get a much cheaper alternative to "Dremel Workstation 220". After installed on drill press it is perfect for making lots of holes in PCBs at precise 90-degree angle with minimal effort. The adapter is designed in a such way that it lets you screw it on while chuck and drill bit are in place and it keeps lock button accessible. Screw the adapter on and install in 43mm holder instead of the household drill as on picture. Unlike drill that weighs at least 2 kg rotary tool is a lot lighter and the press won't wobble: This is how it looks with rotary tool screwed instead of a drill: Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker Original Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Infill: 100% Notes: As this piece will have to withstand significant pressure and vibration, it is recommended to print with maximum infill. Custom Section Important note on threading Some engravers have18x2 threading, others use 19x1.5. The situation is much the same as with threading on the main axle - clones of Dremel have M8x0.75 threading while original Dremel uses M7(9/32"). Make sure to double-check which one your engraver has before printing. Mine 100% fits the clone.
