I have always hated the “grubscrew against the drillbit” -type depth stops, they never lock where you need them and I don't like clamping against the thin-ish flutes.. Saw similar available in metal, but plastic works fine, as long as they don't get too hot.

A simple depthstop for drilling. Uploaded in multiple sizes, ipt is parametrised for more sizes.

Needs M3x14 (not pictured) capscrew and an M3 nut. Smaller ones can be printed withoutsupport, but I think the larger ones (8mm and up) probably require supports.

Keeping a somewhat low infill should help the clamping action. Tested 6mm with PLA+, 0.2mm layer height, 3 perimeters and 20%ish gyroid infill. Probably will print in petg soon.

The parameter “inner” is for drillsize, do not leave clearance as tighter is better. Also you might have a tool to make the hole the exact size of your drillbit :) With larger sizes there are two “errors” on missing surfaces as the hexnut and the cap of the screw fit within the model, removing the possibility (and need) for the extensions added for smaller sizes.

Added v05 for 4 and 6 mm, as tried printing them in PETG. some problems with layer adhesion, but at the same time decided to increase the clearance for the screw cap and added a fillet for clearance for the thread-cap transition. Also added the size on top. EDIT: Added rest, size-text seems quite illegible but whatever..

PETG with 0.4n, 0.15lh, 3 perimeters and 20% gyroid seems to work the best. Minimal stringing and used snug supports in the screwhead and nut cavities.
