Do you have Central A/C and the outdoor Condensing Unit fan died on the hottest day of the year? And the only replacement Fan Motor in town has a smaller bolt spacing, thus frustrating your plans to chill? It seems that Condenser Fan motors have two common bolt spacings, Type 48 and Type 42, which is smaller. This Template is designed help you drill 4 evenly spaced holes for a smaller type 42 replacement motor using the original type 48 holes as a reference. Of course, you will need a motor of suitable power, rotation direction, voltage and length. Just remove the old motor, plop the Template "pegs down" into the original holes and drill 4 perfectly centered and aligned holes for the new motor. The holes are offset so that the new motor lead out wires should line up with the wire guide. Check first before drilling! You might get better placement by putting the Template on the bottom face of the panel rather than the top. Sure beats doing it by drawing out the locations with a compass or doing it by eye and getting it all crooked!
