This is a design that I submitted for my final project in my Engineering Design class. I attend Montgomery County Community College, and this class was super interesting. Our final project was actually based around this design challenge! This design can be used to solve each of the three issues by being able to lift boxes of anything. This means that it can deliver agricultural supplies with ease, and will even be able to transport coolers full of medical supplies! This was designed to be able to transport any supplies with ease to any area that is tough to get to!I managed to come up with this idea, and although it needs a little bit of tweaking, I think that it can be a great contender for this challenge! It has extendable arms and adjustable corner brackets so that it can grip onto a multitude of box sizes, and in the center there is a ratcheting system that will help the user clamp the package into the mechanism, making it even more secure. If anyone is interested, I have part drawings of all of the components, though, like I said, It isn't fully fleshed out, and more so just a concept. The only part that I have constructed out of plastic is the corner brackets, though I'm sure more of the parts could be 3D-Printed too! :)To attach this mechanism to a drone, all you need to do is thread a wire or rope through each of the four rings, and then tie them each to the drone!I've saved as much as 30% of the material for the brackets by using cutouts that don't sacrifice any stability, but do weigh much lighter!
