Drop Spindle Holder

Drop Spindle Holder

My wife has a moderate obsession with fibre arts and among the larger tools and devices used to process wool and other materials she has a handful of relatively tiny hand or drop spindles and she needed a place to store them. This is the first thing I've actually designed so even though it's simple I'm sure I could have improved aspects of it. However, it printed without issue and everything fit together and the end product holds spindles as was intended. And hey, 3d printing is all about making absurdly niche items. I would like to modify it at some point so that I can pick it up by the knob on the top without worrying that the entire thing will just fall off. Some wood filament might be fun, too. I also very much doubt someone could fit a full 8 spindles on this without them bumping into each other. It should accommodate spindles with relatively wide bases. The '5cm shaft extension' piece can be stretched in the Z direction if you want to fit taller spindles. The one pictured is 15cm or 6 inches, and doubling the extension will get you to 8 inches.
