DRUMCY3 design optimization has been spearheaded by the strict parameters imposed, with loading capabilities meticulously analyzed through a 2D numerical simulation model. Enhanced requirements have been integrated to meet robustness, complexity reduction, and energy-saving criteria that guarantee durability, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This rigorous approach has resulted in a drum final layout comprising three distinct compartments sequentially shifted by 24 degrees each, with five sectors making up each compartment. The scoop shape has been optimized on the outer portion based on inlet load capacity and on the inner portion based on load retention capability, ultimately yielding a design where the drum achieves its maximum load after three complete turns, reaching 22.1 liters or approximately 54.4% of the entire dry volume, which is 40.6 liters. The use of weldable Aluminium-Litium alloy for the primary structure and CRES for inlet blades has enabled Drumcy3 to maintain a total mass of 4.5 kilograms.
