Dry Bones

Dry Bones!! Created this wonderful design just in time for Halloween!! He stands about 9.5 inches or 240mm tall and balances quite well with his cute little boney legs. There is a round pin that sticks out of his head and allows you to position it. Each piece is positioned to the build plate and is rather easy to print. The Shell trim right and left, as well as bottom shell outside Head and Tail are the only 4 parts that will need support. I printed all pieces with 12% infill with the exception of the feet. To increase balance of the design I used 80% infill on the shoes and the bottom shoe soles. Assembly is fairly straight forward once all the pieces are printed out. The Hex pieces for the top shell are numbered where to go and require a little glue to hold them in place. After the Hex pieces are attached, I like to glue the left and right trim pieces in place then pop the main bottom shell piece in the trim. The bottom shell outside pieces should line up with their respective grooves. Keep in mind that the hole in the bottom shell is for the head pin to swivel inside. The leg and arm pieces for the bottom shell outside are different, but as I mistakenly found out they are interchangeable. With the main body or shell finished I completed the Head next. The eyes have long pins that extend though the front part of the head and keep the back part lined up. The bottom jaw should be rather simple to attach, but make sure to add the black nostril pieces to the top part of the head first. They might not be necessary, but defiantly add to the design. I glue the Head Pin in the Head and leave it free floating in the body to make it adjustable. I glued the shoes to their respective soles, then proceeded to glue the arms and legs to the completed body. Should be self-explanatory as each arm and leg have different shaped holes and can only fit in one way. If you glue the gloves on the arms then try to glue the completed body to the boots the design should stand balanced at this point. With everything set up and glued in place slide the Head down onto the body and, Congratulations its complete!!
