For using moisture sensitive filaments(Nylon, Polycarbonate, PVA, questionably PLA) , rather then keeping the spool in storage and trying to pull off what you need, just use this to feed from moisture resistant storage directly to the print head. Be sure to check out the BOM in the gallery Use PhillipTheMobster's filament stand inside and its perfect!http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:318527 Instructions Drill (3) 1/4" holes though your storage container where you want the parts to be, 1" spacing between the holes. Then use an 8-32x 3/8" pan head machine screw a nut to clamp the two pieces together(subsitute M4 x 10mm for metric) . Use sealant if you desire, though I suspect airflow will be minimal, even without sealant. The outlet uses a tubing push connect, designed for 1/8" BSPP threads. The 'Oversize' outside fitting is for printers that print holes undersized, 'Nominal' outside fitting is 0.020" smaller in diameter for printers that print closer to nominal or oversize. I used McMaster PN 5225K504 for my fitting to 6mm OD tubing that my printer uses, and a Snapware brand 23 cup storage container to fit the large spools from makergeeks. Use whatever containers will fit your application. UPDATE: PhillipTheMobster's filament stand is the perfect height for the 23 cup snapware, and leave space on the bottom for a desiccant pouch/containerhttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:318527 The huge makergeek.com spools still rubbed ever so slightly. But you can fix it easy a hair dryer to heat the plastic and a blunt object to spread the walls where it rubs by an 1/8" on either side or so and it turns freely. If anyone else has problems with the leg piece not slicing right, comment here and I'll upload my .stl with the fixed leg.
