Drywall Shelf

Drywall Shelf

thingiverse

A fully printable shelf designed to be attached using drywall anchors. It was originally designed to allow me to attach a pair of speakers to a wall without drilling into metal studs (this will be a recurring theme in my projects) You may need to resize the holes on the back side to fit whatever anchors you are using. I found that because the anchors I used did not sit perfectly flush with the wall, it was necessary to include a recess in the part for the anchor face to sit in. Without it, the shelf sits about 1mm away from the wall, and whole part tends to want to bend towards the wall. The part seems like it's strong enough to handle this additional load, but I have no idea what the impact on long term endurance of the part would be. Using paper/cardboard as a shim can also prevent this, though I'd recommend using a shim, that's the same color as the part.
