Drywall Tape Reel

Drywall Tape Reel

thingiverse

This is an open source drywall tape reel with belt clip. It works very well. If there is an issue, the tape spins too freely so be careful how hard you pull on it or you'll have a ticker tape parade. This reel can handle a 500' spool. If there is demand, I can make smaller reels for 250 and/or 75' spools. These smaller reels might be more appropriate for a portable dispenser but I only buy 500' spools so this was all I need. This project is part of an effort to create an entire open source ecosystem of drywall tools from mud boxes to seamers. None of these tools are complex or intricate and they get pretty nasty over time. The only tools I have no intention of designing/sharing are knives. Drywall knives are available from the dollar store and they are better than anything I can print, so no need to make them ourselves. If you know what this is, you can see it is a simple and good design. If you don't know what this is, you don't need it.
