DSLR Film Negative Scanner Rig

DSLR Film Negative Scanner Rig

Here's my take on a DSLR film scanning rig that takes emilhallengren's design and adds support for 645, 6x6 (soon) as well as a few minor tweaks to the 35mm plate. The hope is to have a complete 3D printed solution for scanning various types of film. All one needs to do is bring a screw (for the mounting plate), a camera, a light table, and film! For now, the camera holder and and extensions will need to be printed from the original design. I also glued some felt to the back of the front plate to help avoid scratching the front of the negative and to flatten out the film better. The back of the negative seems like it's mostly ok, although one problem area may be where it comes out of the back of the stand. That could be improved. So far I haven't had any issues through running through a few rolls of film. If your lens is heavy you may need to put a shim on the front or otherwise the camera may point too far down. Thinking of making some sort of lens holder to combat that but for nwo I just use some rolled up cloth. Works fine :) CHANGELOG: 2017-07-12: Added NOTES, light table holder, 35mm rear plate (from my other design) TODO: Figure out a way to re-use 120 roll spools to use for both 35mm and 120 with a winder to make it easy to advance frames for scanning and to keep things nice and tidy. (Credit to siftu for the suggestion!) I think adding the connectors to the film mounting base holder will allow a 3D printed spool holder to be made so that they can sit on the sides. Also probably need to swap out the mounts for something that already exists in TinkerCAD as that's what I am currently using. Finally the tolerance for the 3D printed Arca Swiss plate may be too loose since the camera moves more than it should. And on that note a lens support would be good for longer lenses to help keep the whole solution stable.
