I couldn't get a DSLR to stay in place on the printed platform, though it worked great for a compact. I had a mini tripod that I never use with a nice aluminum ball-joint head that was really easy to remove. Modified a collar piece to mount it to and it works great. Instructions I happened to have a dusty mini-tripod with a head held on by a single hex-socket screw. Made the mounting hole on this thing 6mm in diameter to fit. I have a headless mini tripod for sale. CHEAP.
