A remix of the excellent thing:731176 with a redesigned fan grid that improves the airflow and support for installing a potentiometer on the inside to control the RPMs. I also tweaked a bit the side tabs that hold it in place. This kind of side cooling can be really helpful with all PLA prints, and even with ABS, if used carefully. I can now do crazy overhangs like these easily. Instructions When printed in ABS it tends to warp a lot, specially on the ends, so be sure to use whatever you have to use in order to improve bed adhesion (I find that the so called 'ABS juice' works best). I wired the 2 x 60mm 12v fans directly to the printer's 12v input on the control board in the back. They only use roughly 0.22A combined, so there is really no need for an external power source. Optionally you may also install a potentiometer in order to be able to manually control the speed of the fans. These 2 little beasts really blow a lot with the improved fan grid design, so being able to tune them down a little comes very handy for some sensible prints. The potentiometer I used is a standard 10K-Ohm (I believe) and measures 16x16x7 mm.
