Dual spool/reel rack/holder

Dual spool/reel rack/holder

Rack/holder for two filament spools/reels. Fits 1 kg spools of the width (ca. 8 cm) and diameter (up to ca. 19 cm) seen in the pictures. The central hole diameter of commercially available spools varies: the thin rollers in the main design file are supposed to be used with cylindrical adapters for various spool central hole diameters. Two of these are supplied as the .STL and .SCAD files: these fit the spools that I have come across and been buying. No guarantee they will fit any others. Designing your own adapter should be easy enough, or you can modify the .SCAD files supplied. Additionally, you will need four 10 mm diameter bearings, some washers and four bolts to screw the bearings into the spool support rollers. It think I used short M3 bolts. The holes will need to be drilled out a bit. It should all be quite self-explanatory looking at the pictures. This design has no provision for preventing filament slipping off the spool and accidentally wrapping around the rollers, potentially causing jams. I haven't had this happen yet but recognise that this is a potential problem. I may come back to this at some point and try and fix it. This was one of my first designs after getting the printer.
