Some replacements for the ps3 control stick if yours is worn or broken. I'd recommend smoothing these with sandpaper or acetone to make them easier on the thumb. They fit well and are tight on the shaft, however the hole is 2mm deeper than an oem ps3 stick to allow them to work on other controllers with ps3 style sticks.You should just be able to pull the stick up to desired height and it should stay in place but you can put something in the hole like a 2mm thick bit of rubber to stop it sliding down.
