From the Monster 1100 2009 (but also used on the 696). Created for engineering from measuring on the actual parts, so all interfaces are 100 correct. The front trellis frame includes all mounts, and the tubes are hollow, but since I didn't want to destroy the actual frame, I have approximated the wall thicknesses. The actual weight for the front trellis frame alone is 7.0 kg, and if a density of 7850 kg/m3 is used, the model will get this weight. The cast rear subframes are only present as a dummy-part to get the correct interfaces to the engine and rear suspension unit, but the interfaces are correct. Please note that when this frame is assembled with the rest of the Monster 1100 sub-assemblies, the castor angle is 68.5 deg (front sag=20 mm, rear sag=0 mm). But Ducati states 66 deg!!! I have checked this 7-8 times, but when measuring the castor angle on the actual physical bike with the same static sag values (using a zeroed digital angle measurement), I do get 68.5 deg. The suspension mount is the special one for the 1100 Monster with a spacer. The 696 mount does not have the spacer. The ignition lock weight is 330 g.
