A simple superior belt buckle to use with common fabric belts. The prototype printed in PLA worked. Havent printed this refined version yet but I guess there won't be any surprises. 14.03.2017: latest version (schnoin16.stl) now rotated upside down to prevent ugly surface pointing upwards while wearing, it also comes with less edgy corners, a looser fit for the snappers, a tighter fit for the... umm... main-buckle-lever(?), a button-hole and +20% fancyness (still not sure if that faux-poly-art-stuff is better than none at all). Pictures soon to come. 15.03.2017: Face it - ducks are great. We all love ducks. So there's a belt buckle with a duck on it now. Enjoy. 16.03.2017: Latest iteration features a more sturdy wall, sharper teeth, a more graceful shape, a shorter lever, some further minor improvements and a bent duck. 23.04.2017: A serious buckle for serious events (funerals, weddings and stuff) - with a checkered pattern instead of a ducky one. I printed that one in polycarbonate... it's actually much more transparent than the picture suggests; and the most sturdy so far I guess. However I haven't managed to destroy any other version yet. Even a (lay-)wooden one still works, although it's a bit loose by now. 10.11.2017: After about half a year in use, the PC buckle broke. Unexpectedly it was the bottom corner on the main-frame that got ripped off while the lid with it's thin cylindric parts stayed intact (I always thought that might be the weak spot). So I redesigned the whole thing for better stability and less thickness. Top and bottom faces now are thicker and the whole buckle is 2mm thinner. That's as slim and sturdy as it can get, I guess. I've also gotten rid of the actually useless hole in the wall and made the "teeth" more even. The current version is #49 and comes in an empty and in a duckish version again. The one in the picture was done in yellow PETG. Print Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0,1mm Infill: 100% Notes: Works fine in PLA, looks great and works even better in green-tec. Guess almost any material is fine for that buckle, however it most likely makes sense to select something with good layer bonding and some reasonable amount of flexibility. Should be printed in the given position with about 20% zig-zag support, everywhere, for structures above 85° At least these settings work fine for me on cura. Nozzle size was 0,5mm for that one but I guess bigger ones will work even better. Post-Printing Some sanding perhaps.
