Duet Case

Duet Case

A lasercut case for the Duet-Controller (http://reprap.org/wiki/Duet) that mounts onto the aluminium extrusions of a kossel. To be made out of 4mm material. Please feel free to share your makes/remixes and leave suggestions for improvements in the comments :) Instructions Cut out of 4mm Material and assemble as shown in the picture. I used CA. Glue one of the 4mm spacer-rings over each one of the 4 mounting holes for the duet and attach the cross-brace to the back in the center using glue. Screw in the Duet using m3 screws. and screw the whole case to the extrusion. Included are 2 cover-designs. I use the one that is one piece and hold it shut using 2 rubber bands. I am planning on using the 2 part design and turn it into a magnetic hatch by glueing the frame to the case and using the cut out squares ans magnets to somehow attach magnets (That was a bit of a bodged afterthought while standing in front of the lasercutter :P). Mount 2 40mm fans to the cover if necessary. The square holes are appropriately sized so the nylon mesh does not fall out if the end is tucked in. However, you might need to make the usb cutout a little bit bigger to fit the usb plug that came with the Duet (or just cut away some of the plastic of the cable as I did). Furthermore, removing the Ethernet-cable requires some tool or untrimmed fingernails to press down the lever. The fan cutouts are remixed from 3dyuval´s criss cross fan grill (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:425789), which I think looks really neat.
