I absolutely love Octoprint, I also love the Duet Wifi. While I know it is not recommend that that you print tethered with the Duet, (there is a pretty sweet web interface) however, the plugins for Octoprint are pretty hard to beat. I have personally printed with the Duet tethered with Octoprint for hundreds of hours with no issue on my SeeMeCNCRostock Max V3.2 I am in the middle of converting my CR-!0 to an all in one unit and replacing the stock Melzi board with a Duet. I found this 2020 mount for the Duet and figured I could squeeze a Raspberry Pi into the case. I was right you can squeeze a Raspberry Pi Model A+ (same as the 3 B+ without the additional USB and Ethernet) You will have to power the Raspberry Pi using the a 12v to 5v converter (i use MP1584 3A Adjustable DC Step Down Converter, it is small and will do the the job) and use the 5V and GND on the GPIO pins (may have to solder them to the pins) In addition, you can place an additional 40mmx10mm fan in the case to cool the Duet and the Raspberry Pi. (I did not add any mounting holes, as I plan on using double stick tape and sandwich the fan between the base and the cover. I have included the Fusion 360 Files and STEP in case you'd like to make changes.
