UPDATE: It turns out, not all hex dumbbell handles are alike. In my collection, most of my dumbbells have 27.5mm diameter handles. But a couple are from different sets, and one is 30.5mm, and another 28.5mm. The texture is also a little too slick. I'll probably add some patterns to the grips sooner or later.too. If inspiration strikes, i'll get back into openscad and make this a full customizable thing. Lately, I've been picking stuff up and putting them back down. Since time isn't free, I wanted something to passively work my forearms all the time when slinging the dumbbells around. Fat grips, Gorilla grips, etc, seemed like a great idea. I'd rather DIY then lift my wallet however... Comes in two flavors. Full grip and baseball. Required hardware: 4-8 3mmx25mm bolts 4-8 3mm washers 4-8 3mm nylock nuts a cast iron hex dumbbell. Print 2 of the same kind, flip one around, and bolt them together. Print these strong. 27.5mm is the diameter of my hex dumbbell handles. baseball is 75mm round, like a baseball. fat grip is gently contoured to be 55mm (2 1/8in) in the middle and ~49mm (2in) at the ends so finding the center is easy.
