Duplicator 7 Big Big VAT
thingiverse
Hi Guys! I'm sharing my take on a large vat for extended resin-consuming prints. After extensive testing over several weeks, this setup works great. Additionally, I've successfully stored resin in a single vat for a month without any leaks. To assemble the vat, you'll need M4 Heat-Set Inserts for Plastics from McMaster-Carr (https://www.mcmaster.com/#94180a353/=18fxv52) and some M 4 Black-Oxide Alloy Steel Hex Drive Flat Head Screws (https://www.mcmaster.com/#91294a188/=18fxvhc). You can purchase these items from McMaster-Carr or other suppliers with similar specifications. To prepare the heat set insert, use a file to modify the tip of a regular welding iron into a proper shape for heating the brass insert. I recommend practicing on test pieces before working with the vat, as you don't want to risk damaging it due to unfamiliarity with the heat set insert's reaction when heated. When installing the vat, remember to reconfigure your home endstop blade, as the vat is significantly taller and may contact the plate assembly bracket upon startup. Also, swap out the screws holding the vat for longer metric threads by removing the bottom cover and replacing the existing screws with new ones from a local hardware store or car shop.
