Dust Collection Hose Retaining Assembly

Dust Collection Hose Retaining Assembly

This is a custom 3D printable assembly I drew up to solve an issue I was having with my CNC router setup. I primarily machine wood and make a LOT of chips and dust. I use a dust collector and 2.5" dust hose connected to a custom 3DP dust boot which I also drew up (Link here: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/144126-cnc-router-spindle-dust-collection-boot) . The problem was the hose was fairly large and unsupported and just flopped around as the CNC operated. This assembly solves this issue by retaining the hose and preventing it from freely flopping around during use. The design allows for he hose to move with the router and dust boot as it makes z moves, while still providing support to the dust hose. The assembly requires 6 M3x10mm or longer screws, 2 M3x20mm or longer screws, 2 M3 set screws 12mm or shorter and 8 M3 hex nuts. 4 screws fasten the two halves of the main body together, another 4 screws fasten the ring to the body and the set screws secure the assembly in place on the stepper motor. Optional zip ties can used to secure your router's power cord to the assembly and keep that from dangling as well. See pictures for more detail. I printed in PETG to ensure it would handle the stepper motor heat and because its just as cheap as PLA. No supports needed.
