A connector to join a dust bag to a DeWalt Mitre saw. Instructions One of my friends asked if I could make him an adapter for his Dewalt mitre saw.. He bought a dust collecting bag off E-Bay and the exhaust outlet pipe and dust bag inlet pipe where the same diameter. Well he measured it at 1.522” and 1.527” respectively., I think they were the same but, here is the result. One was designed in TinkerCad and the other in OpenSCAD. I wasn’t happy with the Tinkercad versions as I couldn’t seem to get the centers of the cylinders to line up and consequently the internal diameter is off center. I need to spend more time using it I think, as I was rushing to get it done before dinner. Also I wanted to try using OpenSCAD. Both files are listed. I created a ridge in the middle of the connector that differentiates the two different diameters. I used Makerware to put both pipes on the print bed. I used the defaults on Makerware for my Replicator 1 with the exception off increasing the HBP to 120F. It took just about 4 hours to print. There were a few stray filaments when the printer was printing the internal ridge. I removed these with pliers. Both connectors fit first time. He seems happy with the results and has a spare in case he breaks one.
