The dusting pan has been around for many years and is used in many households throughout the continents. The dusting pan is a rather plain invention and I believe can be improved to be more efficient and have an additional use rather than just picking up the cheerios your little sibling dropped on the floor. My design will include many improvements to the very current and plain dustpan. The dust pans tend to have a rubber tip in order to keep the pan from moving, but this causes some crumbs and other various items to not be able to make it into the pan with ease. My redesign of the dustpan will have a handle that is foot level and allows the user to place their foot upon the handle and keep it in place, removing the rubber grip at the front of most modern dustpans. My design also has a small section in which can be removed so a small block my rest on the side of the dustpan. This block will contain a fork like pattern to help remove grim and dust that rests within the broom bristles that would require the user to hand remove such grim. There will be an indentation within the dustpan itself and this will have a locking system, which allows for an attachment post that will lock and stop the problem of having the constantly bend over to pick up the dustpan off the ground. For those whom enjoy the rubber grip at the front of the dustpan, this dustpan will have a custom attachable rubber grip for the front of pan itself in order to increase stability and/or for other uses the user wishes. The lockable post also comes with an attachable handle that will provide comfort to the user in which is using the product provided. My hope is that this redesign of the modern dustpan will help improve the comfort levels for the user and help improve the plain dustpans efficient for the user.
