I could not find the specific specifications. Instead, I just did some measurement and tried a few times. It snaps into a 12.7 mm DVD drive bezel and covers the metal and plastics inside. It is just an aesthetic thing. It involves a lot of measurement and constraints in the process of design. I think it makes a great entry project for students who want to design or customize something simple and useful. In the current design, the plate is 12.7 mm x 128 mm x 2.0 mm.
