DW Hobby Mini Eagle motor mount

DW Hobby Mini Eagle motor mount

This is a extension motor mount for the Dancing Wings Hobby (DW Hobby) Mini Eagle 1200mm. The kit's motor mount, when mounted according to the laser cut parts, would sit too far back. The instructions seem to suggest to instead glue the motor mount directly on the foam, which would result in a weak joint (see YT videos... 1 flight -> broken). This motor extension allows you to use the original motor mount yet put the motor in the correct position. It also has a 2.5 degree right and down thrust built in as suggested in the latest revision of the manual. The motor fits the recommended 2212 brushless outrunner, which has the traditional 16/19 mm spacing for the mounting holes. Only the two 16 mm spaced holes are used for this mount. You will need two M3 x 8 button head screws to secure the motor. OpenSCAD source code is included so you can alter the mount for other screw lengths.
