This is for the Dyson Animal 2. Up to four of these can be used to reduce suction on carpets which cause the vacuum to become glued to the carpet or immediately stop the roller brush from rotating. These clips lift the soleplate in the front, in addition to further lifting the vacuum slightly. This prevents the soleplate from forming a seal on the carpet. Depending on how many clips you use (start with one on just one side), the suction can be varied. The clip can be cut down a bit for less lift too. This won't solve the other design flaw in the roller brush head which causes it to stop spinning on some carpets. The bottom of the soleplate does not have any form of grill to prevent the carpet from lifting up into bottom of the brush head. A stiff thin bar across two spots is enough to prevent the carpet from being pulled up into the head. However, these clips should allow you to reduce the suction as needed to prevent it. Hook the clip on the back edge of the front part of the soleplate at one of the two notches, and rotate around to the front until it clicks into place. Two clips will fit in each notch side by side. Update: I redesigned these (again), this time adding an air channel. I have made countless versions of varying lift height and air channel size but these are the two that I use the most. The small gets the most use. The vacuum is still is a workout to move around, but it's manageable while keeping the suction very very strong. The small size also can be used on hard floors. There is a minor loss of suction, but it's made up by the fact that debris gets sucked in under, instead of getting snowplowed in front of the head. I use the medium sized when I actually need to lift the brush roller a bit higher to prevent damage to the rug. 2/3/2022 - Tiny tweak to move the 'S' -- it was accidently moved too low.
