The dispenser of my espresso grinder is prone to retaining grinds. Over time, they can build up and then fall in a big clump. To keep ahead of that, I built an attachment for my Dyson hand vacuum which conforms to the dispenser opening. Every few days I give the machine a few taps while pulling suction through the dispenser to keep it nice and clean. I've attached the full model as well as two halves so as to avoid supports.
